Anne Chamness

I am Anne E Cooper Chamness,  Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I studied Fine Arts and Art Education at Indiana University. I fell in love with teaching art while working at a local elementary school. A student's transformation from 'I can't do it' to 'look what I did' warms my heart every time. Many of my works have been displayed in galleries, but the majority are commissioned as gifts for weddings, graduations, or for that special new home.

My medium is typically acrylic paint. However, I've always loved photography and, really, anything that allows me to use my imagination and creativity. Photography always leads me back to painting the beautiful world I just captured in an image. 

I am a big-picture thinker/painter. I  create landscapes using perspective, color manipulation, and overlapping to draw the viewer's eye into the scene. I also paint close-ups of a variety of flowers. While I find the depth of a landscape inviting, I am intrigued by all the small details that make up the bigger picture.
