Kelly Jenkins

Kelly has been fascinated by glass since she was a child. After doing some stained glass, she realized that this fit wasn't quite right. She was introduced to fused glass and this has filled her soul with happiness and the need to create.  She has several processes - don't all artists? One requires firing glass to a liquid state in the kiln. Temperature adjustments, color selections and subtle manipulations creates drips, color flowing and movement. The glass is then cut with a glass saw and fired a second time to polish the edges.  Many pieces are finished with roller printed sterling or copper that is riveted to the glass. Kelly also teaches her craft at the Indianapolis Art Center on Mondays.
